Reading drum tabs is mathematical by nature.

This is an example of what the interface looks like. The interface is intuitive and so easy to follow and I’ve always found the notation to be accurate for all the songs I’ve learned. It has a huge selection of over 500,000 complete song tabs.
SONGSTER JUST TAB PLUS
It’s one of the best musical training tools available, plus the standard version is completely free. Not 99.99% happy with it 100.00%.I’m going to take this opportunity to say if you haven’t heard of Songsterr then go check it out right now. It doesn't end there because I still go back and listen repetitively and I just keep refining my part until I'm 100.00% happy with it. Then when I think I got it, I begin trying to play it. I still listen and listen and listen and listen and listen and listen (and count along). I still don't care to look at any kind of cheat sheets when I'm learning something new, even if it mystifies me to no end for a while. If it weren't for this experience, I wouldn't be able to just relax and let it flow.
SONGSTER JUST TAB HOW TO
Even so, I think I depended on my ability to count time and all of its subdivisions because I could just count things out and boom, almost as simple as that I knew what to play and how to play it because I under stood it. I even reached a point where I'd come up with something completely new for some songs, but of course that was only if I could come up with something that worked, otherwise, I did what was on the recording.Īgain, I just simply listened to the songs and I did so very carefully and many many many many times. Eventually, I began coming up with some of my own ideas. So yeah, it was time-consuming but a job well done is a delicious reward. So, I learned everything this way, and I learned songs note-for-note too, 100% true to the original drum part because I didn't know what else to play yet. I started in 1993, and back then I'm about 99% sure I didn't have this luxury. As you progress, you'll discover and hear more and more details of the drum part, and you will probably discover things that you'd like to do that the drummer didn't do on the recording. Repetition is the path to knowledge and mastery.

Just keep listening and keep practicing over and over, repeat, repeat, repeat. You can learn any song you want without cheat sheets like that.
